Woot! Electrical tariffs up by 22%! Gahmen will be able to raise more revenue and build better infrastructure (better F1 tracks) to attract tourists=) Anyway, I find the figures that the average 4room household pays only around $100 abit too low for me to believe. Because I live in a 4room flat and I don't have aircon, neither do I leave my com on, neither do we switch on the lights unnecessarily, neither do we bath exceptionally long to drive up the heater bills and the only thing that's kept running is our refrigerator but still, the bill adds up to about $180. It's weird to see that even when we didn't do much change to our way of life, our bills can jump by such a big percentage even before the increase. I wonder what happens when the next bill comes. It'll probably go past $200 (the highest in my life so far in this house). I wonder next time when I have a house in Singapore without aircon, how high would my bills be? $400? (At the rate it's increasing, impossible is nothing)

F1? Fantastic1? I don't think so, it's not even exciting with only a few over takings occurring. It definitely isn't exciting and drivers unable to even overtake. I feel sad for Massa but the fuel incident made me realise how dangerous the job of the pit crews is. I feel sad for Hamilton as well because there was simply no room for him to overtake Rosberg no matter how hard he tried. While Alonso, before the match my sis was saying if he can go from 15th to 1st, he is the real pro. Yes he did, but in a rather drama situation. Oh well, a win is a win. Singapore's circuit is just typical of Singapore - Just follow lor (law).

Oh, F1's practice race is tonight. Don't really care though. Yesterday's newspaper had a comment by one of the journalists on pride of F1 (page3). I agree with his report that many do not really care about F1. Firstly, majority of people (including me) sees it as imaging and they are just going after the profits that the tourists would bring in. Locals are almost left out. Look at the $5 surcharge for taxis, I don't see the link, it's basically daylight robbing in my point of view. It's just ridiculous la, The kind of circuit that we have is testing the skill of the driver, not much of the speed of car though. And as what the report mentions, should a game of Man U vs Liverpool be telecast at the same as the F1, most would have chose to watch the former, agree? Agreed. After all, seeing 22men chasing for 1ball should be more interesting than watching few cars going over the same route 61times.

I feel like I just took JC1 promos, even then, it wasn't as bad. My physics is at all time low. My computing despite putting in the most effort scored just a pass. It's demoralising.

Just got back computing results, in 219 now because of my good timetable that allows so many breaks. Kind of demoralised by my computing results because it's the subject which I spend the most time on yet I only passed by 4marks. How am I going to take my A's like that?*sigh* Maths next, my only hopeful subject left.

People, there are some famous products made in China that should not and cannot be consumed. Here are the following, ice cream - magnum, walls, meiji. Candies - Milky boy, rabbit (大白兔奶糖). Take care, there are several others but I guess they are not consumed by majority so yup. Anyway, they have been ordered to be taken off the shelves of supermarkets=)

It's the end of a beginning! Or is it the beginning on an end? Anyway, it's over for now.

Anyway, I think we should award our paralympists more than our olympians. After all, they fought with disability and such huge determination to win medalS(1gold+WR, 1silver, 2bronzes). While we not only buy the olympics medal but it came at a heavy price too. 10times more than what a paralympics gold medalist would get. Not forgetting they are foreign talents. I'm not discriminating, I think the real discriminators are those who feels that the paralympists ought to receive lesser. The fact that we award much lesser for locals who put in more effort and determination and do the country proud says alot about us.

Anyway, saw this on KJ's blog so decided to do for fun. My lust is very low k, told you all that I'm pure and innocent already don't believe. But the rest, just ignore la ah..*lol* I'm not that good afterall=x

I find it unreasonable and illogical that ERP is used as a 'safety measure' for the longest underground tunnel in SE Asia. 16 ERPs within a 9km stretch. I think safety measures should be like asking cars not to drive below 50km/h or above 70km/h and like asking the cars not to switch lanes. I think there's no need for ERP because countries like Taiwan have did it for much longer stretch without a single ERP in the tunnel and yet the cars are able to travel in an orderly manner above the minimum speed.

Anyway, you won't know when there's heavy traffic in the tunnel and when you head your car in that direction, you will probably get caught in a jam and yet pay ERP. So that defeats the purpose of reducing traffic isn't it? Because you don't even know the traffic condition inside until you enter. Anyway, they say ERP lets you go home faster and save your fuel because you are able to travel at a closer to optimum speed. Let's see, if you go through all 16ERPs and if say each ERP charges just $0.50, you would have to pay $8. $8 just by driving your car through a jammed 9km road. I think your fuel cost lesser if you travel say extra 2-3km and not use the tunnel. I just think the ERP thing is quite ridiculous because it doesn't solve the root cause of the problem. It's just like road A jam, I put ERP there, now road A is smooth while road B jams, ok, I put ERP at road B. Huh? Isn't that back to square/rectangle/quadrilateral one?

Just had maths paper, I'm ok with the paper (not sure if the paper is ok with me). But just realised an error on my part for deciding to neglect the keyword! Question 10 part2 which ask for probability, on AVERAGE, males students spend more time on reading newspapers than female. I was comtemplating if I should use the bar. But I totally neglect it and I think it should cost me 4marks!!! *arghh* It's the 2nd time I made such a mistake, hopefully I'll learn. Winston has become stupid.

Saw on Today's Today that the F1 VP in charge of Singapore asked 10religious leaders to pray for safety. I didn't know Singapore has got so many religions to begin with=x But I'm more surprised that they actually did this kind of thing which many would consider superstitious. I'm not against it though, afterall it's better to believe than to doubt right? Oh well, I think not enough is been done to promote it in Singapore. It gives me the impression that Singapore isn't doing it for its citizens, more like for tourists revenue. Of course I know that's one of the objectives but I think that they have over emphasized it such that the locals don't even care if it's coming to Singapore at all. Not everyone is able to purchase the ticket in the first place because of the price. There are not much of like discounted tickets for Singapore citizens I believe, tell me if there is in the first place.

Well, Singapore hub this and that, I think they didn't really hub the citizens together with what they do until the citizens make noise. Note the Serangoon gardens incident recently. I'm not all against Singapore, sure it's a FINE country with good security, I just feel that many atimes, citizens woes are not really solved to the root cause. Look at Malaysia's PM, he personally took their monorail system and was unsatisfied and said, 'I'm not happy, we need to improve'. Imagine him coming to try and squeeze into our trains during peak hour, what would he say? But anyway, I doubt he can even get on one in the first place unless he has got the Singapore spirit - kiasu and stand infront of the door. My question is, did our PM or transport minister went to take a train during peak hour before? Of course, without pre-informing the train staffs etc. so that they would be unprepared and can provide the best scenario for whoever is experiencing it. My point is that, a good leader is able to bring the nation forward, but an excellent leader brings the nation forward with care and concern for the citizens. I must clarify that I'm not saying our leader don't care or be concerned about us k. Afterall, they adjusted the transport fees so that 4 out of 10 people will benefit=)

PS: Once again, please inform me of any offensive material, I'll duly remove it. Thanks.

I totally screwed up my physics paper3. I'm disappointed/sad/angry/irritated/annoyed/frustrated with myself. I've never done worst in a physics exam than this before. I don't know why, I think it's because I started physics too early for revision(1st few days of study break) and thus I forgot most of the stuff I learned. I didn't practice any paper. I don't know what to say, my mind was a blank, I just stare at the questions and leave it blank. Perhaps I'm too tired to think? My mind wasn't well rested I would say because I woke up feeling very tired. But that shouldn't have affected as much as not studying hard enough. So yeah, I have not studied hard enough. Paper3 is over 80marks, I probably attempted 50+ marks with a lot of cancellations and half filled answers. Tomorrow is econs essay, it will be worse given that I only spent 1day to study during the break. My prelims is screwed, A's most likely screwed since prelims is a gauge of what you will get for A's and the paper wasn't tough, it was doable so I guess I've a lot to do after my prelims.

Valet parking services are banned at Holland village even after they have been there for so long. They will be replaced by new electronic parking system which you see pretty frequently nowadays almost everywhere. This means that there is no more free parking on Sundays nor Public Holidays. I would say our government is 'good' as they shift the attention to road usage. Look at it this way:

Vehicle ownership cost (COE) have gone down to make cars more affordable (Good for people, bad for environment).
ERP have gone up because it claims to speed up traffic during peak hours by a few km/h and you get to go home earlier to spend time with your family(that's great! According to our transport minister).
With higher ERPs, people tend to use their cars less which means more parking time and taking up parking space for longer. This means the need to buy season parking. This means more revenues for the government to build infrastructure for Singaporeans to enjoy like ERPs so that they can travel faster by a few km/h in the CBD area and have more family bonding time.

Yes, revenues collected from ERPs may be lower, but how about from parking fees? Not forgetting almost every parking lot in Singapore requires you to pay in some form be it cashcard or coupons.

Moral of the story: Don't own a car. Because if you own a car in Singapore, you may Pay lesser to own the vehicle(initially), but whether you use it or not, you will end up Paying more on top of your COE. Don't use, Pay parking fees, use, chances are you'll Pay ERP. Anyway, if you parked your car in your own garage, do you still need to pay road tax? But the best solution is to ride a bicycle, not only is it environmental friendly, but you also do not need to have a license yet, and there's not ERP for it yet as well. Though if the number of cyclists increase, there are chances where you need a license to own 1 and you need pay ERP when going into high cyclists traffic area like Chinatown perhaps?

Pay is the virus that you don't want to minus,
you must be serious, just use your blain use your blain la=)
